It could almost be described as one enormous picture book. You may be surprised by its size when you unfold it indoors.
Set within the streets and underground spaces of Tokyo shown on this giant illustrated poster, the product offers stories, quizzes, and explanations of the many items appearing throughout the scene.

Story
Although many things are all around us in the city, we may rarely notice them, pass them by without a second thought, or simply pay no attention to them.
Some are normally buried deep underground, so we seldom have the chance to see even what they look like.
There are many such things all around us.
But what if we changed our point of view and made the usually unseen visible—depicting it in an illustration so large that it is almost unbelievable? Surely, an astonishing world would emerge.
This idea led us to begin developing the product in 2018.
This project began with the aim of completing it in time for the Tokyo Olympics, but the road to completion was long and difficult.
Then, the sudden global pandemic made interviews and location photography extremely difficult. With no clear prospect of completing the product, the project nearly came to a halt several times.
We were ultimately able to release it only because of the support and cooperation of many people.
We sincerely hope that TOKYO CUT / MAP & BOOK will reach many children—and adults as well.
